McGrady, Slowly I Turned, Step by Step

In February I commented that a McGrady trade might make sense if the cost to the Knicks was inexpensive. More recently Isola wanted to overpay.

Today, I have a harder time seeing McGrady being a Knick mostly because it seems pointless.

But if Curry and Q secured McGrady and the 2010 Houston second round pick I'd be okay with it.

This would add some short term expense but free up a roster spot and rid relieve us of Eddy Curry once and for all. Q is just odd SF out anyway.

Any reason why Houston would do it?

Well, carlos, Houston played very well in McGrady's absence. Chemistry-wise it makes sense to eliminate an elephant in a crowded room. So that would be why Houston might want to unload McGrady.

SA second reason is that as a playoff team, how many fragile pieces do you want to go to war with? Losing Mutombo and Yao was a speed-bump and eventual back-breaker. They have got to be looking at improving the infrastructure with healthier bodies because they are contenders.

So if you buy that, then who is in the market for McGrady except nobody?

Well, then it becomes a player dump with Houston getting what it can in a depreciated trade.

Houston could do far worse than Eddie Curry and Q, both useful pieces off the pine given their needs.

Of course I've speculated about this for over a year, long before the jonny come latelys.

I actually think it might be a decent trade assuming McGrady contributes and accepts being a role player.

Ye Newe Glory-torium

Here, dear readers, is the final resting place of all weary Knicks fans. Yes, here is where one comes when the Triangle refuses to have three sides, when biting one's lip from losing to win later is one loss too far,or when said fan simply hits 'rock' bottom. In short, "the ship be" eternally "sinking" here. Welcome aboard, rearrange the deck chairs as you please.
