Cannot disagree more! This team is far younger and with actual potential to grow. This comment incenses me....
Interestingly, the rest of post seems to validate Isiah - You say the team needs a wholesale change and that true ambition is necessary to knock this team out of its doldrums. But that's what Isiah tried to do with two huge trades for Curry and Steph and one smaller one with Crawford. None have worked out as well as he had hoped (or I believed) or as well as Isiah would say. Ironically, Isiah has done much better when having more modest goals, i.e. picking up role players.
It's an interesting debate on whether the team should be allowed to grow or if wholesale changes are necessary. But I cannot countenance any suggestion that we are in the same place as in the Layden years.

Yes, here is where one comes when the Triangle refuses to have three sides, when biting one's lip from losing to win later is one loss too far,or when said fan simply hits 'rock' bottom. Marbury is not a kid anymore, Curry, Crawford and a host of high priced under-performing vets have no more upside. I'm not saying they're dreck but hustle only goes so far.
The profile of NBA players is a three year break-in. We may expect a career year here or there but we still are short of quality starters and a smart court-some.
This isn't baseball where you can ease a kid along. Balkman may be no more than a very good off the bench resource. Mardy and Morris have true upside.
Frye is still a question but where's he fit without the ball? He's the wrong PF mold, we need an enforcer.
Look, I am not an Isiah basher per se but I prefer a different coach or GM who is independent. An Isiah love-fest with the players is bad chemistry. Somebody has to be objective.
Right now, it's a one-man show. No checks and balances on Isiah. It will come back to bite us. He's ridden a streak of good breaks so far. What happens when the downsides start to show?
We can't wait for a downside to realize we need to get better - that's what we had with Layden, a dreck tag sale.
We have some tradable commodities now, cash a few in is all I'm saying while they have some worth.
