Modiano on Isiah

I just discovered a great analysis piece of Isiah's tenure as GM of the Knicks. It is a positive piece that I largely agree with.

As I have commented before, my feeling about Isiah's failure is that he was far too close to his players to be an effective GM in the later stages of his tenure. He had a hard time parting with the guys he brought in.

And clearly, it is Marbury and not Isiah who was the more toxic actor over the past few years.

As for Modiano's analysis, the only thing I quibble with is his assertion that this year's fast Knicks start was indicative of poor coaching in previous years. IMO, it is indicative of a maturing roster, the quarantine of Marbury, and a radical coaching style that re-invigorated the organization.

I still think Larry Brown got a raw deal and Isiah simply presided over a team infected with Marbury's increasingly dysfunctional behaviors.

Check out the article here. A great and well-researched piece.

Ye Newe Glory-torium

Here, dear readers, is the final resting place of all weary Knicks fans. Yes, here is where one comes when the Triangle refuses to have three sides, when biting one's lip from losing to win later is one loss too far,or when said fan simply hits 'rock' bottom. In short, "the ship be" eternally "sinking" here. Welcome aboard, rearrange the deck chairs as you please.
